Happy 4th of July!

I want to wish all of my fellow Americans both at home and abroad a happy 4th of July! Please be safe and appreciate our country and time with your loved ones.

A BIG thank you to our servicemen and women who are sacrificing time away from home to protect and serve our country.

Happy Canada Day!

I just wanted to wish my friends North of the Border a Happy Canada Day!

I was reading an article called "35 Things Canadians Say That Americans Don't Understand". I listed 10 of them below for your amusement.

  1. Garburetor - we Americans call it the garbage disposal or trash compactor.
  2. Out for a Rip - going out for a drive or snowbile ride. Any excursion really.
  3. Homo Milk - Homogenized milk or whole milk.
  4. Two-Four - a case (24 cans) of beer.
  5. Hang A Roger - turn right.
  6. Hang A Larry - turn left.
  7. Stag and Stagette Parties - bachelor and bachelorette parties.
  8. Runners - athletic shoes.
  9. Mickey - a 375ml bottle of alcohol.
  10. Chesterfield - a sofa.

Here's two extra's:
  1. Serviette - a napkin
  2. Double-Double -a type of coffee from Tim Horton's, Canada's most popular coffee and donut shop. Kind of like our Starbuck's and Dunkin Donut's combined.
I hope you enjoyed those. Now you can speak a little "Canadian" when you go up North. Cheers!
